So, right now aRO is in a bit of a slump.
But, I found out some VERY good things that'll help us get off our feet.

For 50$ a year I can get us a great new patch server.
That would take some stress off of Wing and make patching much faster, along with NO capacity limits.

For 15$ a month we can get a banner on the top sites list.
That was true of our old one too, but get this...
If we do that, it gives us 100 free votes at the beginning of each month!
That's an automatic top 10! Also, sites with banners get a good 200+ hits a day on this topsites list!
Because there are so few sites with banners, you see.

I also want to spend money on advertisements in other places, I think there's quite a few we could grab.
If we do this, we can finally see aRO growing, a LOT. So please, help us out!

First the site was changed by her to pictures of Ark that I won't discuss.
After that it was changed to a redirect to a quite stupid rickroll.
She blocked me upon even trying to speak to her, and she won't change it back.

Having been over a month now since we lost Wing, we have to think it might never come back.
As a result of this, I will leave the decision of what to do up to you the people.
This poll will close in one week, two if there are not enough votes.

Option 1: "Keep waiting. Wing'll come back someday, right?"
If we take this route, things will continue as they are with no registration.
Wing could never come back. It's a completely real possibility.
However, needless to say, there is a chance it could come back.
The chance seems slimmer with each passing day.

Option 2: "Restore the old Wing backup data. It's good enough, right?"
We have a backup, but it's a few months old, dated May 18th, 2008.
With this option, registration (and re-registration) would re-open.
The loss of Wing would be considered an unavoidable matter.
If it came back later, great, we could try to merge some data back in.
Otherwise, we would simply try to bear our losses and move on.
In attempt to aid the recovery, the server would be in anniversary mode for a week, excluding hats.
Restoration of known anniversary rewards, event prizes, etc, since then would be allowed.

Option 3: "Start it over from scratch. It'll do us all good."
This means starting over, a new Wing equivilant.
Not many people would be happy about this.
Even so, some people have voiced wanting this in the past.
I highly doubt this would be the majority vote, but...

Option 4: "Just close the place already."
I guess some people will vote for this.
We've had a good run. Some people think it's time.
Even if we closed down, however, I would relocate the forums so the community could stay together.

Please, choose your answers based on your most truthful feelings about this.

Attention, I don't know if it matters but I have a few things I want to say.

For all of you that have been here and stuck it out through everything, Thank you. Whether it's 4 months to 4 years it doesn't matter, thank you for not giving up. I know at times we all want to quit and run off. I even know some of us have prolly left for a while anyway, however you came back. I cannot honestly say that I know what is going to be happening in the future but I can only ask that you stay still.

I know I have not been here as long as other players have, and I know i don't know everyone that great but... I won't give up ever, I plan to be here as long as I possibly can be. I know we have people we hate and I know we have people we love, not only here but everywhere in our lives. Human beings are never perfect, but it's what makes us, us. I watch everyone very carefully to know them more and more. I started to think that it was not worth the fight in anything people do, because some people never respect or appreciate others for their hard actions. Some never care for others. Then there is those who say thank you for the simplest things. I want to stand up for everyone. The ones that left the ones that quit everyone. Those were humans. Complex living people that effected our lives in negitive and positive ways. Even if someone barly changes your life you need to never forget that they made a difference. I will do everything in my power to stand up and show that people are important even if they do wrong I won't forget them.

I want to let everyone know the same rule applies to Sara as it did Arktis.. If you have a problem with her, tell me too. I won't let anyone take any words that may hurt them, alone. As much as a lot of you deny, we are a family. And even if we don't like it we must live this world together if we plan to live it. We learn to love and learn to accept. And no, by saying this I don't mean those who won't do this must leave. If you won't thats okay you are entitled to that choice, but I will still protect you like anyone else I care about.

I accept all of you for you. Please have faith in aRO. I know It may be hard. Also, believe me.. when I say I won't let this place fall without a fight. I may not know what I can do to help but... All I can say is I am trying. Thank you <3

As you can tell, our weekly scheduled power shift has occured once again...however, this time is permanent as far as I can tell.

Sara has left me ALL the information for aRO in a final parting gift, as well as several incredibly informative files and logs as to where to get and utilize the patches from the 4 main servers around the world. This being said, and as masochist as it sounds, I'm saddened that Sara's left, because holy Crap what the hell am I doing.

On a more upscale note; I've already had the chance of fixing some things directly. Masamune's defense cut wasn't chopping up defense like it should've, which before would've required some Butt fuckery in the bug tracker, and praying to god that I was feeling energetic and decided to go visit it. Not anymore. I plan to at least get the minor breaks in the game fixed later when I wake up (after breakfast, then bathroom), so that we all might not have to be screaming at me because "WHY DOES THIS CARD NOT WORK."

Also; Yes, I did as everyone assumed I would do. The very first thing I did was go back to the old aspd system, but this time affecting ALL aspd weapons and cards. I know that doesn't mean much for some of you (In before windhawks and blacksmiths), but the way I figure it anymore; Since we're on FreeBSD, and considering the issues we've had with it over the years relating to some formulas (such as aspd), we may as well try to have fun. (In before "ARK'S OVERPOWERED AGAIN OMGWTF")

In all seriousness though, I'm working on crap already. I don't want to let you guys down this time around, so please let's all push on, instead of our current trend of dropping out.

Heya everyone. It was brought to my attention recently that there are quite a few people who enjoy the new Emperium War: Second Edition and actually prefer it to the original version. My question to you all is this: would you guys like that we switched the days for the Emperium Wars so what original is on Wednesday and SE is on Saturday? It seems there are more people on during the weekend, and this would allow those who cannot participate on Wednesdays to check out the new kind of war. If this is well received, perhaps we might change BOTH times to EWSE and phase out the original. But for now, simply vote on switching the kind of Emperium Wars that take place during the week on Wednesday and Saturday. The times would remain as they are for their respective events (1 hour 8-9 PM est for Original; 2 hours 7-9 PM est for SE)

Now, just a note. The light potion bottles. The HP recovery potion bottles weigh 1, that's 5 times less than a slim potion, and 15 times less than a normal potion! The light ASPD potions weigh 2, which is over 7 times lighter!

• The rates are being increase to 3/3/3, this is 3 for all drops, including cards, equipment, and misc. loot
• The server is moving to a new OS, there will be no data loss, but it will improve the server
• More official quests will be implemented
• Abbey is now available, Veins has a kafra you can warp to from Rachel, and Thor's Dungeon will be implemented in the near future.
• The usuable and etc items that can be bought for real money in official servers will be implemented, however, they will be sold for zeny and/or loot. Not all of the items will necessarily be implemented.
• More customisation to the server, such as more progress in the official story RP (sneak peak of Selias' realm shown)

Tomorrow, May 31st, Angelic Ragnarok Online will be celebrating its 4th anniversary.
So, I've decided to announce a couple of my anniversary plans in part, in advance.

On Anniversary Day, an Anniversary Edition of aRO Special will be released to the public in this thread.

As of this week, we are going to try having two completely seperate wars.
A war on Wednesdays and a war on Saturdays.
Anyone who owns a castle at the end of one war can't participate in the other.
Feel free to leave your remarks about this, but we're going to give it a try anyway.

I may be gone for about a month, and I won't be able to announce when if it happens.

I'm taking a job offering in Abilene, Texas for building wind turbines ( see also: http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e78/Flip...othertowers.jpg ) for a living. It's insanely better than my current job, and it will get me started on my career in racing like I've wanted to do for the past decade.

If I'm unable to announce when I leave (which could be tomorrow), I'm sorry, but I'll be back within the month...so don't fret. When I do, I'm going to leave one of our sub GMs in charge of the banhammer, so don't try any funny business. >:(

Per the discussion, we're going to try 3 new ways of war out.

First up; We're going a level-based 2 castle war. There's 2 rules;

• One castle is Level 1-78, the other castle is 79-99. *ALL* remorts are clumped into the latter group.
• Anyone caught twinking themself or another character will be PERMANENTLY EJECTED FROM WAR.

We'll announce next war what we're doing, but not ahead of time.

Some of you aren't going to like this news.
Some of you may even choose to quit over it.
If that's what you do, that's your decision.

Two weeks from today, on March 13th, some changes are being made.
The first change was done on official servers a LONG time ago, but we got swamped with complaints.
However, with the server's 4th birthday only a couple months away - I decided to adjust a few things to get even closer to kRO official.

The change I speak of is that the 'Clock Room' isn't going to exist as it does now. That is to say, the spawn isn't going to be concentrated in that room. They are going to be spread out more-so over the entire floor.

Second of all, Niflheim's spawns will be changing too, for re-officialization. I speak of a few spawns in the town itself and the spawning of Lord of Death on the 'field' map - along with adjustment in the number of a few certain monsters.

Third and lastly, we are stating an official 'main town' for the server.
This will be Prontera, and from that day on we hope that you will gather there. A lot of people join, but upon never seeing anyone, quit quite quickly. That's because the current unofficial 'main town' is out of the way of newbies.

- This will help with our server growth. They will meet and get into our community much quicker than before - it will give them more of a reason to stay with us.

- In the past we didn't have the airships to aid in travel. Prontera is right next door to Izlude which has both the dock and airship to get to all your favorite leveling areas.

- Thirdly, vending seems more natural at Prontera - and will help a bit with getting our economy going more so. Selling player made potions or discounted goods to new players to help their leveling. Or selling those items that they're currently too low to hunt for ( silly headgears or headgear ingredients for example ).

I hope you all understand the reasons for our changes and the move, and that you support them.

• Only guilds that participate, or plan to participate in Emperium War.

This is absolutely mandatory for every guild that goes to war. I cannot stress enough with words how important this is. If you don't think you can make it to the meeting, MAKE TIME.

Things have gotten ridiculous, and I'm not allowing it anymore.



The meeting will be scheduled for Wednesday 9:00pm Server Time. I expect to see everyone there.

Heya everyone, just wanted to inform you all of a particular situation. With the heralding of the latest semester of studies, mostof you have probably noticed me on a lot less. Well, this being my one of my Senior semesters, the workload has finally caught up with me and has done so with a vengeance. Right now, I'm lucky if I can log on maybe onceor twice a week if I'm lucky. I've been consistantly up late (around 2~3 AM) due to the result of the work that my classes demand along with any and all other activities that require my attention.

As a result, I can no longer give a sufficient amount of time that is required of me to do my duties on aRO. Rather than be off of the team, I'll pretty much be considered "inactive" as it were. For all intents and purposes, however, I will be no longer among you as I once was.

It is my belief that the state of the matter is vastly more important than any single person belonging to such state. My intent in all this is that with me stepping down, another can step up to the plate and lead as I tried to do. I do this so that the community may continue to be provided for. The community must continue and it must survive, for that is why we all play here.

With my departure, I want to present to you the one to fill the void: GM Isiolei. Please treat Isiolei with the utmost respect; especially during her first few days where she's still learning the ropes. If you treat her with even half of the kindness that you treated me, I guarentee it will be returned tenfold.

I'll still be on from time to time, whenever time allows, to check on you guys. Good luck and good hunting; but above all: have fun!

From now on, people will not see my as listed as GM Team anymore on the !w / !who listing or on the forums and so on, and that is for a simple reason: I have resigned from the GM Team due to my own reasons. This of course doesn't mean I won't help people ingame with questions or the like, which I still do, of course, but I won't be able to babysit cussing issues, help in harassment/personal issues or the like.
